Paul Sayers is a Recruitment Specialist (Indigenous Staff and Faculty focus) with the University of Saskatchewan. He is Anishnaabe from the Garden River First Nation in northern Ontario and a graduate of the University of Toronto. With 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, primarily in Toronto, he has dedicated his career to assisting Aboriginal people obtain employment in a variety of organizations including CIBC, Hydro One, Garden River First Nation and Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training. He has lead several projects designed to increase the representation of Aboriginal people in all levels of the companies he has worked for. His specialization focuses on partnering with external Aboriginal organizations and building programs such as the 2008 CIBC (Calgary) Job Readiness Training program for Aboriginal Women and the Aboriginal Career Start program with the University of Saskatchewan. Paul has also lead several projects focusing on capacity development with an end goal of creating a representative workforce which includes Aboriginal people.
