JESSICA ALEGRIA

My name is Jessica and I am a program facilitator at Canadian Roots Exchange. I have mixed Central American Indigenous and Spanish ancestry and I identify as a refugee settler to Treaty 6 where I arrived at the age of 2. I am close to completing my Regional and Urban planning degree from the University of Saskatchewan and I feel strongly about mental health issues, community development, and the importance of critiquing and moving away from dominant capitalist/colonial practices. I am grateful to live and work on this territory and do my best to heed the responsibilities inherent to being a settler here.
