Dr. Jessica Dunkley is a strong Metis woman working as a family doctor in Vancouver and is also completing a residency training program at UBC to become a dermatologist. Dr. Dunkley is one of the first deaf physicians to undergo specialty training in Canada, she established a precedent for accommodations in the transition from academia to training.
Dr. Dunkley has a passion for identifying innovative solutions to perceived barriers in achieving employment in the workplace. Leading by example, she successfully alleviated systemic barriers and injustices during her education and training in healthcare. As a family doctor, she tailors her environment to create a successful workplace and is rewarded with the joy of providing health care.
In her spare time, she is an avid cyclist and enjoys the outdoors.
