DR. CARIE BUCHANAN
Dr. Buchanan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at St. Thomas More College. She studies the developmental significance of peer relationships across the lifespan. Her doctoral work examined how social status and gender conformity within the peer group predicts different forms of adolescent peer victimization. Dr. Buchanan’s current program of research explores how young adults’ psychosocial functioning may be related to both positive peer interactions (e.g., friendships and romantic relationships) and negative peer interactions (e.g., peer victimization) during the transition from adolescence to emerging adulthood, particularly within the context of post-secondary education.
